    Tyres

Just had the first service on the PHEV about 5 weeks ago and they pointed out some wear on the outside rim of both front tyres, now the tyre pressure alert is coming on and if i pump up the tyres, its back on in a couple of days and its clear that the front tyres have worn down a lot in those...

(UK) who has best scheme to join for public access charging

Have you check the Zapmap site and app? It's not perfect, but it is a start https://www.zap-map.com/live/ and it does give some indication of any costs levied for charging.

    Thin paint on the Phev

Was quoted £350 to have a detailing package where all the existing little scratches are removed and a polymer coating applied, would take two days to complete. He said that as its a lease car he would then advise a another session before it goes back, but with the polymer coating this would not...

    Charging problems

I had a problem earlier this year with the tethered cable on our Rolec and the installer came out, said it was something to do with calibration of the micro switch. Fixed in a jiffy!

    Average cost of annual service

I bought the £500 3 year service deal and I worked out that it would be worth it - after they quoted this to me when I looked at the car and before committing I phoned a couple of dealers and asked them for the price of the 1 or 2 year services. I was quoted £190 for the 1 year and £270 for the...

    Thin paint on the Phev

I've posted previously that I too consider the paint to be woefully soft and thin. Due to bushes encroaching into the narrow road to our street along the railway line, the passenger side has very fine feathered scratches showing white primer under the black paint. The car is one year old today...

    Thoughts on Battery Life/Age

Me and my partner both work from home and do 10/15 miles per day, school run/shopping/drop off/pick ups, on average and the price tag really does measure up! In 9 months have done 6660miles, 90-95% urban/suburban, have averaged about £28/9 per month in charge costs (home charger in the drive)...

    Thin paint on the Phev

Part of my everyday journey involves a narrow road with cars parked on the right and the railway line on the left, no footpath or barrier between the road and the perimeter of the railway. The area on the left by the railway is overgrown with bushes which encroach onto the road and frequently...

    Tailgate speed

Really - the tailgate is too slow?!! Yesterday I went shopping and I popped the tailgate on my approach to the car and by the time I reached it with a trolley load of shopping, in the rain, it was open and ready to load. Loaded up, pressed to close tailgate, walked to the trolley station to...

Tailgate not locked when car in 'Drive'

That's interesting, as mine will not open until I press park and/or turn off power! In fact, I find it a bit annoying as I drop the lad off at rugby and he can't just pop the tailgate to get his stuff out the boot without me pressing something first!

Tesla charge point? Newbie owner help?

This article suggests that Tesla are in discussions, but that it's not possible just now http://cleantechnica.com/2015/09/27/some-non-tesla-evs-may-finally-get-tesla-supercharger-access/

Tesla charge point? Newbie owner help?

I think the short answer is no! I think there are discussion on going about opening up their chargers, but as yet, as i understand it this has not happened!

front and rear parking sensor installation

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BzWDYJ8zeE22VzgtT0Mzd0xVQ2c&usp=sharing These are photos of the ones I had fitted - the guy who did it told me that they used the existing guide marks already in the bumpers and used for the 'factory fitted' ones, so not sure if its possible to choose...

    Claimed mpg

For the last couple of months or so the car has suggested an EV range of 20/22 at the start of each day and given the cold and rain and the need for wipers, blowers, heaters etc that is pretty much what I have been getting. On Saturday it was a lovely day, really warm and sunny, so much so I had...

2015 model, not sure of the range

You don't say how old your current car is, but I replaced a 9 year old SAAB 93 estate and I was getting c250/300 miles on a tank @ 60litres latterly!!! I've had the PHEV for 6 months now, done 4350miles with over 80% of that in EV, the rest taken up by a couple of 400mile round trips pretty...

    Long Road Trip planned

If you want to charge on route there is a rapid charger at Pitlochry and there is a nice coffee place and a great fish and chip restaurant nearby to take a break and refuel you and the battery. There is also a rapid in the car park at Aviemore and again there is places to eat etc nearby (Cobbs...

    Long Road Trip planned

I do a regular Edinburgh to Elgin journey to visit family and since getting the PHEV have done the return journey twice. I usually go up the A9 to Cartridge (then onto the A938 to A940) coming into Forres and onto Elgin via the A96. No issues with it at all, not on the A9, including the Slochdt...

    Securing your charging cable

I have rarely had occasion to use public chargers in the 6 months of having the car, but have not thought security of the cable to be an issue. Rapid chargers have tethered cables and with non-rapid public chargers you need to swipe your card to commence and stop the session, so the cable will...

Front and rear parking sensors - views please

It's been about 6 weeks since I had rear sensors installed having found the camera to be of limited usefulness and I have to say that I have found the sensors to be more useful in these 6 weeks than the camera has been in the almost 6 months of having the car! As has been said by other, the...

    Rear seat height

Yep - they do indeed recline and i'm reliably informed by my back seat passengers that the recline is most appreciated and comfy. My son is 6'3" and has no problems when he is in the back, but the seats are reclined.
