Hhow much fuel does PHEV use while charging?

I understand you can charge the batteries through the fuel engine by running it stationary or during driving/breaking.

What I would like to know is how much fuel you have to use to charge the battery when not driving and how this compares (in costs) with charging electrically at home/work.

There is no specific answer for exactly how much fuel used to charge the batery for the Outlander PHEV plug in. The costs vary dependant on your driving habits.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV roughly uses 1 gallon of petrol per 143 miles. Also it has 2.0 liter front engine and 70 kW generator. So you can do the calculations.
