Rain inside charging compartment

We've had heavy rain all afternoon and although the charging compartment is on the leeward side I was surprised to see water inside.

Is this normal?

Yes, it's not sealed, so quite normal after heavy rain or a car wash.

The small plug cover is sealed- that's what matters (though even then, rain is basically pure water, so non-conductive.)
