Hi have just been told that you can not fit the side steps that are currently available on the diesel versions because of the battery pack. Has any body else had the same response.

When I enquired about side steps I was told that the standard Outie side steps will not fit but there is a prototype under approval which should be on sale by the end of the year.

Don't see the need for them myself - it really is not a very high car.

I just want them to stop people from opening they car doors on mine

Would they do that? Most car doors seem to be pretty convex - I don't see how a side step is going to have much impact on that, I'm afraid.

I think the body part of the car under the door (sorry not very technical, I know) sticks out further than the outer door skin, so this should catch the brunt of it. I don't think it'd help if someone opened a rear door with the typical wheel arch cutout shape though.

What happened to proper cars with big thick rubber strips down each side? :D

I have been told today there may be a possibility for the sidesteps from the diesel to fit the PHev

Side mouldings are available, but not in the UK I think

Having been attacked in Morrisons by a car door, would be keen to get a set!!

Cheers
