Have any of you with reports of poor radio reception had the update on the system from Mitsubishi? We have 3 of the commercial variants (the 4Works) and one of the many issues reported to the dealer for the first service was the terrible radio performance. They didn't do anything with all the issues at the first service (more of this in other threads), but they did send a USB memory stick with an update for the entertainment system, that they said would help. Unfortunately, the update will not install. They then sent another stick, with an even newer version of firmware, and that too would not upload - The "Update" button on the vehicle touchscreen obstinately remains greyed out -

The symptoms we have are similar to those described above. There are some settings for FM that are critical to getting the RDS to hop to the next available frequency. Even with those set correctly, the RDS is very stubborn at hopping, and often has to be prodded into it. Its nonsense when the present frequency has deteriorated into hissy mush, but a little up the dial, is the same station booming in.

But some of our biggest radio issues are on AM. In the Highlands of Scotland, there are plenty places where there is no FM or DAB. You are then reduced to AM, and the AM coverage on these vehicles is very poor, and prone to interference from the vehicle itself. The drive motors are particulalrly bad, whether in motoring or regen. You find if you are trying to listen to something you don't want to miss, you put the vehicle in Charge Mode and keep the speed above 40 mph so the engine drives the front wheels direct, avoiding using the motors. In some parts of the Highlands, keeping the speed above 40 mph is easier said than done....

The dealer says that the USB upgrade should cure all these woes. At least it might if it would install......
