In the UK, the service schedule says to “inspect” the fluid level, but that's all. Some other territories are told to change the fluid every 30,000 miles if the car is in severe conditions (e.g., temperature extremes, lots of stop/start driving). In Australia, the first cars got a schedule that says to change the fluid every 90,000 km / 6 years. Later cars deleted that instruction (but the “severe” rubric still applies). The fluid to use is Mitsubishi ATF SP-III.
