Dreaded "EV system service required" message

I would invest in the Torque PRO phone app. This allows for clearing those nagging messages. If there really is a problem the message will soon come back

    Failed WiFi module

My remote control app stopped connecting to the PHEV. Dealer determined that WiFi in car was faulty. my PHEV also had a recall on the security. computer was reflashed, new VIN password. much longer and mix of upper and lower letters and numbers. why, why, why is it needed. new WiFi with...

    very short journeys

I would be looking for the %SOH, and total battery Ah. a new battery is about 39Ah.

    EV only add on.... Thoughts??

Upon a recent trip to my dealer for a recall to fix a problem with the ICE not turning on in charge mode, and replacement of a faulty WiFi box for the Remote control, a few details of the new model including a STANDARD EV only button were mentioned. Has the new model hit the dealers in Europe...

Can i Go Solo with solar

Hi Andy, I presently either [recharge my PHEV], or [home aircon], with my home setup, from my 9 year old Lithium Battery, OFFgrid PV setup. I was an early adopter of PV and there are domestic commercial options now from eg, Tesla power wall, et.al. My PHEV is not driven every day, but when it...

    Great headlight upgrade :)

I did try an LED main beam upgrade. Was not as good as an HID main beam upgrade. The HID have a warm up time when cold. I have a Great White LED bar, and HID main beam with 2xVenom HID pencil beam spots. The LED I purchased were very white light and watery beams, and interfered with radio...

    Reset (or find) WiFi password?

The service department at your dealer will be easily able to connect their service tool to your PHEV to retrieve the password, which they can then supply to you. I had to have this done when I picked up my second PHEV that was missing the required documents.

    PHEV box

I will be having some PCB made for a sticky function purpose. These will be equally at home to provide a sticky ECO feature, like I presently use for my own Sticky SAVE feature. I had been hoping that MMC would do a firmware update and include some sticky features for user button press...

    Emergency Boost Battery

The self discharge rate you mention is for a battery with nothing connected to it. These gadgets have a low consumption cct connected all the time and hence need recharging more often than just the self discharge rate requirement. I will keep my 4cell battery with no gadget for the moment. I...

    Emergency Boost Battery

These gadget batteries need to be charged every month or so. Leave them in the glove box and for sure when you need it, it will be flat. The LiFePo battery I use, only has leads on it, no other gadgets. The gadgets are OK if you use them for other applications and hence monitor the charge and...

    Suspension problem

There is not much clearance between the exhaust pipe and the body. The jolt from a speed bump may cause the pipe to touch the bodywork. There is not a lot of suspension travel and bumps can easily cause it to bottom out. The PHEV has been designed as a road car, so suspension travel is limited.

    Emergency Boost Battery

These battery devices have a habit of going flat over time in a glove box. I have a LiFePO 4 cell battery that I use for all sorts of 12V applications No internal gizmos to make it go flat. Has served me well for a couple of years now. Have not had to jump the PHEV as yet, but was great to...

    EV System Failure

I have to concur. My dealer had to be presented with the PHEV with the fault still present before any real action started. It was apt that the dealer had the same experience I had with the car veering onto the wrong side of the road. Probably why my PHEV was replaced and not just a single...

    Another 'save' question

My experience would suggest the test above is more about the benefits of using cruise control.

ECO button on my 2016 Outlander PHEV

Maby has hit the button on the head. The ECO button is in a difficult place to get access. I never tested the ECO button as at the time it made no difference to my drive with it ON or OFF. I was a bit daunted by the task of access to the ECO switch. My little mod circuit will work equally...

    Bought EvBatMon for Xmas

I would only believe the battery condition. 105%SOC is not that a big deal and shows variations in measurements more than a believable number.

    Battery degradation

MMC have quoted a maximum 20% loss of battery capacity over its life is expected. If this happens in under 5 years, then battery pack is replaced under warranty.

Would have been interesting, repeating the same road in the rain.

    Low Tyre Pressure warning

I hope Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have authorized my tyre dealer. They play a must be role in the above tome from the manual.

ACC Service Required and EV System Service Required

I have had both of these error messages, as well as FCM and others at the same time. The messages on my PHEV were a result of corrupted CAN bus data with a WiFi OBD connector installed for data logging. My PHEV did not go to a limp mode, but the check engine light stayed lit. I had my dealer...
