    Suspension problem

Thanks CasseClas but this is very noticeably a noise coming from outside the car. It's almost as if someone has attached a small cowbell underneath! The dealership seem to think the spring is either not seated correctly or its rubbing against somewhere on the inside of the wheel arch. Either...

    Suspension problem

Hey all, picked up our 2nd Outlander at the end of April, but whenever the car goes over a speed bump or coming off ramps there is a clanking/banging noise coming from the rear suspension. The car has been back three times to the dealership, the last time it came back with two scratches and a...

    Most realistic mpg

I don't post on here very often, but since new (and covering more than 19,000 miles) we have averaged 70 mpg, when I include the cost of the electricity in that period that equates to 55 mpge. The best was 137 mpg over a period of almost 5 weeks and the worst was 34.8 mpg in one day on a long...

    New VED changes for 2017

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/88361/tax-disc-changes-everything-you-need-to-know-about-uk-road-tax# I apologise if this has been posted recently. This has hiterto snuck under the radar (for me anyway!). Have just ordered our 2nd PHEV (a 5hs) and from what I can work...

    Charging protocol

I have given up with public charging. Period. I don't know what it is but most of the chargers I attempt to use are broken or I get there and someone is already using it. Two recent examples include when the other week I politely asked an individual how long he was planning on leaving his...

    MPG - Quick Poll

Done around 6,500 miles since getting the car in August. Averaging around 67mpg so far, I make that about 52mpg when you factor in the costs of the electricity. It was approx. 85mpg in fuel until recently but 5 x 300+ mile round trips has really brought the economy down. Car is kept outside...

Should have purchased 5 metre charging cable

What's wrong with using a bit of 1.5mm flex on an external weatherproof single socket extension lead? I haven't tried this yet, but 1.5mm is good enough for 18 amps supply.

    South East or South Central

Thanks for that, I went to Wisley a few months ago, saw the charge points but no-one seemed to have a clue as to whether I could use them or not.

    Charge cost for last month?

It works out at a full charge every other day, done about 3,800 miles since collecting the car in mid-August. I guess that's average use.

    Charge cost for last month?

Since August it's working out at roughly 60p a day to charge up.

    Ecotricity charge points

Tried one at Cobham services the other day, the other was being used by a Leaf, and it didn't work. Rang the hotline who told me that the GSM signal wasn't working and the system would only work for drivers that had used the Cobham services chargers before. I had some difficulty with the...

    Winter Tyres?

Got some Pirelli W210 Sottezero II winter tyres fitted yesterday, the new Mk III's aren't available in that size for the rims, the car definitely feels a lot more planted. I haven't noticed any additional road noise, but I wouldn't be that bothered if there was.

How many miles (or km) have you managed on one tank?

Managed just over 1000 miles on the last tank however the MPG has crashed over the last couple of weeks, partly through doing a few 40+ mile round trips, using the heaters more and noticing the ICE was working, and I think my Dad left the 'charge' button on for about an hour on one journey...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

Not entirely related to the car but our Rolec home charger got repaired today. I complained on here that it was intermittent at the beginning of October, eventually Rolec agreed to send someone out, after initially denying to pursue the matter further. But credit where credit is due one of...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

sorry to hear that Mike. Two products talked most about at work for car park scuffs are "Meguiars scratch x 2.0" (looks like a black version of a squeezy ketchup bottle) and the "autoglym Paint Renovator". Both get good comments from colleagues at work who have used them to rub out some fairly...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

Went to Ikea Croydon today, charged the car up with the ecotricity charger all good (although it was a bit of a faff as it was the first time I've used it). It was absolutely packed but to have a parking space all waiting for me right near the entrance was very cool. However it...

What gas guzzlers have you owned?

Agreed with the Model 'S', but the 'X' is out next year and IMO a serious rival for the Range Rover/Porsche Cayenne crowd who perhaps don't want to 'downgrade' to a Outlander but want the luxury and lower running costs. The Model '3', compact exec based on the 'S' is far more reasonably priced...

What gas guzzlers have you owned?

I agree, I don't think we've ever owned a car that did more than about 35mpg, even normal little run abouts like Peugeot 206's, Polo's right the way through to Porsche and Mercedes. I've got an AMG Merc on order, which is my 'guilty pleasure', but as far as a daily driver I think we will always...
