First outing in new PHEV

I love the auto wipers, it took a couple of shots to get the setting right, but once I did it has been excellent.

I agree, the autowipers need to be setup correctly (or maybe rain in UK is much more "serious" than here in Australia, lol). My only concern is that some time I might have mud or sand on the windscreen and the autowipers activate and scratch the windscreen?

I assume they are activated by moisture only

Had a similar problem in the recent high winds when dirt and sand were blown onto the windscreen, then there was light rain in the morning. When I started the car the auto wipers activated and just smeared mud across the wiper arc. I just used the washers a couple of times. Luckily there were no scratches, but I have gone back to manual for a while just in case.

The wipers were smearing a bit in light rain. Cleaning the screen properly with a microfibre cloth seems to have solved the problem.
