Yesterday I visited a local charge point, showed my card, was asked to connect cable and the charge point went through it start procedure. Machine then told me my car was not accepting charge "check cable, check car" battery was down to 3 miles. I then tried another carpark with the same type of charge point, got the same answer? Tried another carpark different charge point type worked fine! I'm sure it's not the cable, it's brand new.... Could it be the car? :x

It's usually the charge point at fault. I have had the same thing on Ecotricity chargers at motorway services. It has come up with various faults like "CAN Bus Error" etc. it had me worried at the time but I managed to get other ones to work fine.

I suspect that the computer systems and connectors and CAN-BUS going everywhere are going to be trouble as our PHEV's age.

I had an OBD HUD connected and on a bumpy road, had error messages come up on the dash. Was able to replicate all sorts of errors just by pressing on the OBD2 connector. No doubt these will need to be cleared at the next service. Will be monitoring this aspect as my PHEV gets older.
