Hi all
Can I add a multi cd change unit to the MCCS system....easily?
I have a very good 6 cd unit from a dash mounted sat nav from a previous retro fit

Mike

I am reasonably sure you cannot easily. But why would you when it can take a usb stick loaded with many many albums and I think the higher spec models can also take an sd card which does the same.

Will try this. 4hs frost white
Just I had an expensive 6cd changer in the garage
No doubt quirky sockets and quirkier software to boot

It would have to be the same brand as the Headunit to stand a chance, even then, you would have no control over it unless there is a serial port at the rear.

I think the standard SatNav (as well as the optional one) are all Kenwood systems. You need a power supply, L&R channel input and then a serail BUS point so discs and tracks can be changed etc.

It'll probably have the L&R input, but I doubt the serial port. And if your changer isn't a Kenwood, it'd be a big challenge.

Thanks StevieB
I think it's a Clarion system, changed and removed from a couple of Kia Sorentos.
I think I'd take it to a reputable car radio expert and pay for this. Red to red, black to black then leave it to the professionals.

Good luck, but think you'll be out quickly. Getting the 2 units to 'talk to each other' is not straight forward without major specialist component changes.

Power, Earth and L&R will probably easy enough, but it will never play anything or change a disc.

Maybe worth while check connections in head unit, and if Kenwood, see if a Kenwood changer off eBay would work.
