We bought the 4h so we would have this facility.

We've not got round to downloading, installing the phone app yet but I still want to be able to preheat the car from the mains before I set off.

The car is frozen this morning. The heating doesn't seem to be activated when I push the power switch once, so I have pressed it twice, so now it is beeping because I don't have a seat belt on and/or it is still connected to the charger.

I cannot lock it and it beeps because my keys go out of range!

So it's sitting with daytime running lights on, unlocked and hopefully warming up. (and won't be nicked ! )

Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Without the remote app - I think you'll need to set a heating timer from the settings menu in the car.

Remember that the pre-heating function will stop if you open a door - so give yourself enough time to get out/pack the car etc before it is scheduled to run!

You haven't done the obvious, which is install the app. So, why not do the obvious and install the app instead of looking for workarounds? Would not have taken much more time than asking your question in this forum

Good luck installing the app.

I've never managed to get the car to see my phone or tablet, despite trying numerous times!

Maybe for you, but not for me (old retired geezer)!

I've still not figured out how to operate the tailgate with the remote, despite being shown by my local dealer numerous times  !

And a million other things. My phone is short of memory and I need (someone) to fix that first for me ........

Had no trouble with the app. Downloaded it from the store, went to the car, found the ssid, entered the appropriate code and connected. Then had a small update to install and after that communicates each time I connect to the ssid.

appreciate you may have tried everything, but just in case, here's a step by step guide, the first step is easily missed as it isn't intuitive and could be the issue?: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en/products/outlander_phev/app/remote/jizen.html

then here's a step by step on the app itself: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en/products/outlander_phev/app/remote/

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the first step involving the lock unlock cycle while in ACC mode (and that took me a while to figure out too)

Some people have struggled by not doing the remote button pushing quite briskly, it doesn't seem to like you pressing it in a careful methodical pace, you need to do it quickly I found as I failed many times at first, going even slower each time thinking it wasn't getting enough 'signal' each time. Eventually did it very fast at it worked 1st time.

Regula thanks for the tip, tailgate working a treat now.

It was mentioned as a light hearted (but sadly true :( ) response to the suggestion about installing the app.

I'm afraid that has now meant two additional parallel threads running here, tailgate and app

Sorry folks

Thanks for this, that was the only "problem" we had when installing the app. Now successfully installed on an HTC Wildfire and an iPhone4.

I should have known better, as I had to do a similar thing when programming a replacement key from http://www.carkeyhelp.co.uk/ for a Toyota Yaris fairly recently.

I suppose you are sending some kind of digital code.
