I took delivery of mine from the UK in early December and have just had confirmation from my dealer that the warranty is valid from the date of delivery and that "old rules apply". 3 years + 5 on EV components.
I might live to eat my words but, as an Engineer, I agree that significant manufacturing/assembly defects and failures will usually either surface in the first 6-9 months or much, much later. So, the difference between 3 and 5 years does not really worry me.
