    TPMS Service Required

Video now attached. In retrospect it was the non-Mitsu VALVE that was the problem, not the tyre fitter (apologies to tyrefitters) Please watch video.

Apologies, I meant to attach a still and a VIDEO! I'm trying to sort it out|

    TPMS Service Required

This yellow warning appeared on the dashboard. Checked tyre pressures. All okay. I had been in hospital for a long period and my wife reckoned it came on after it's MOT at our dealership. When we went back to the dealership, they asked if we'd had a puncture repaired as it was not an original...

    UK Recall Notice

Has anyone actually experienced the problem? i.e. displayed message "EV System Service Required - Stop Safely" If so, what were the circumstances? It would be interesting to know your experiences. Presumably only occurs when using the ICE. Safe to use as long as traction battery charged?

    GLASGOW: End of free parking

Glasgow ended free on-street parking for EV bays on 7th November 2016 and ends free parking for EVs in multi-storey car parks tomorrow (Tuesday 6 December 2016) http://eva-scotland.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=907

PHEV Remote App and Android 6.0

Returning to the main thread of this topic, after following Mitsubishi's advice and cancelling the VIN registration on both our phones and in the absence of any updates on the horizon I decided to re-register my phone (Android 6.0) in light of the rapid approach of colder weather. After...

    Must have accessories

The one essential if you want to use public charging stations is a charge cable. The one that comes with the car only fits a domestic square pin 13A socket. (I'm assuming UK here). A small number of public charging stations do use these, but most require you to have a female type 1 plug (JV1772)...

Scottish EV Rally: Glasgow Saturday 12th Sept 2015

Hey, received an email today and they have made more spaces available, so I have registered. "We shall go to the ball!" :D I totally take the point about no charging at the final venue - that struck me immediately! Surely have the destination somewhere else, or rig up some temporary multiple...

Scottish EV Rally: Glasgow Saturday 12th Sept 2015

Sorry folks, just received a reply saying they are oversubscribed. May still be worth toddling along as a spectator though

Scottish EV Rally: Glasgow Saturday 12th Sept 2015

We received an email from Charge Your Car regarding the above, being organised by the Energy Saving Trust. I've pasted the brief details below and we've expressed an interest in taking part. Anyone else signing up? It looks like a good opportunity to meet other EV and plug-in hybrid drivers...

    Paddles and which to use

Sorry, just re-read your post. To try and answer your specific questions, with my opinion Going up a hill: regen braking only comes into play when you lift your foot off the accelerator. So in itself not appropriate. It will depnd what is ahead - traffic, or blind summit where you may wish to...

    Paddles and which to use

The handbook [7-17] suggests ".. adjusted according to the driving condition such as before curve or a downhill." I sometimes use it when approaching a bend or coming off onto a slip-road, where before with a manual box I would be changing down to third. The other situation is a long downhill...

    EV connectors charging cable

Just realised the Mitsu plug at the car end does not seem to have the facility to fit a padlock but the EV Connectors one does. However I had gone off this idea, reasoning being that if someone wanted to remove it they would damage the car.

    Charging not working

Yes, you are correct. My major error was to plug into a tethered cable (home charger and some public chargers), rather than a socket. With a socket, your type 2 plug should insert right up to the shoulder. Then it should work okay. With tethered cables I could insert the plug but it would not...

    Test drive today

We considered the Ampera about a year ago [before the Outlander PHEV was on sale here]. There were also some pretty good deals going, I think partly because it was not selling {Maybe a message there too] and also a new model on the horizon, rumoured at that time to have a shorter range. I think...

    EV connectors charging cable

Picking up the story where I left off. If you’re not interested in my ramblings, scroll to the end where I sum up my main findings. On closer inspection of the cable, I discovered the CP pin on the plug was fully 10 mm deeper recessed than the other pins. The sockets on the charger plug all...

Do I need to plug it in?

The short answer is no. I love the car as a vehicle to drive, although I bought it as I was looking for a plug-in hybrid as a lot of my journeys are short and about town. 8 or 10 miles. My average for petrol consumption is about 40 mpg. The tank holds 45 litres ( 9 gallons) which makes a range...

    Test drive today

We went for the 4h and managed to get a good second hand deal. As mentioned by others this market is expanding as the model has become established. Ex demos; end of lease; people for who it doesn't really suit their personal driving habits. The main reasons for going 4h in order of priority...

    EV connectors charging cable

Thanks for all the quick responses: The Charge Master point in my garage is 16A (My garage electrics couldn't supply 32A, and 32A would have cost, 16A was free.) I have always inserted the plug on the vehicle without pressing the button, so that it clicks when in position (As per the...

    EV connectors charging cable

I ordered and received one of these last week, 16A J1772 to 62196-2 (Type 2) so I could use public charging stations. I tried it on : the ac side of the charging station at IKEA (Ecotricity) - no luck. It got as far as waiting on response from vehicle. a Charge Your Car outlet at a local...
