    Old SatNav in new model?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a newer model from my 2015 first generation PHEV. I note that the latest cars don't have the built-in SatNav. As I live out in the sticks down 'yer in Devon I find that mobile phone reception is often poor. I can't even get a good mobile connection at my home...

    Switching off the wifi?

I want to switch off the car's wifi as I don't use it, it interferes with my iPhone and for the more obvious security risks. Is there a fuse I can pull to disable it or do I need to disconnect it from the car's power wiring at its location which I believe is just inside the LH rear door...

Ecotricity UK - change of pricing!

Just received an email from Ecotricity saying they've reacted to the feedback and lack of use and have changed their charging tariff. Instead of £6 for 30 minutes whatever your EV it will now be £3 to connect then 17p/kWh up to 45 minutes charge time. Ecotricity residential customers don't pay...

    PHEV driven without keys!

On Friday last week my wife and I set out on a visit to the theatre. As she was ready to leave before me my wife took the keys and went out to the car, unplugged the charging cable and settled herself in the passenger seat. I joined her and I drove to the theatre. When we arrived at the theatre...

    PHEV Description and Technical Reveal?

Hi, There's a post on the forum giving links to various technical and descriptive documents/manuals about the PHEV...but I'll be blowed if I can find it! I had it bookmarked but a second HDD crash a few months ago meant I lost the lot! I've now installed SDDs so hopefully this won't happen...

    Pod-Point info?

I've picked up a used UK home 'Pod-Point' for use with my PHEV. It's rated at 3.7 kW so should give faster charging than the standard cable and has the correct tethered cable and plug for the car. I will get my electrician to install it outside on a wall near the car. All fine thus far. :D I...

    Oh dear!

Years ago if you dared to criticise an iPhone 3 on an Apple forum you got an instant internet lashing from those that thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and couldn't cope with their beloved iPhone being criticised even though, to some, it was less than perfect. (No please don't go...

Get Paid £100 Cash To Give Your Opinion On Eco Cars

It's a shame that all you will get are the opinions of those living around Wimbledon! I'm sorry to say that having lived and worked in the south east and now moved elsewhere I would suggest that those opinions may not be representative of others across this wonderful land...actually it's sour...

    DIY oil and filter change?

I know all you company car drivers won't be interested in this but of the real car owners amongst us ( ) have any done an interim oil/filter change on the engine? Are the oil sump drain and filter easy to get to? Thanks

    Time zone

Does anybody know if it is possible to get my time zone showing on my forum pages here to show 'good ole GMT'? All I can find is UTC (whatever that is?) and various time zones within. It's not that I mind being a bit antipodean now and again and not wishing to offend in any way, but it does...

    Airport parking?

We will soon be using airport parking where they take your key and park the car and then you collect the keys on your return. (Wife booked the parking before we got the PHEV and it was booked for our old BMW!) Has anyone had any issues with the parking monkeys not knowing how to 'drive' the car?

    Car VIN serial number

My 2015 (March) registered UK car VIN ends in 0464 which logically makes it number 464 off the line. Seems a low number for some 12 months or more into production, or is this just the UK spec number? Or maybe it's been hanging around before being registered?

    Missed opportunites?

OK Not wishing to become a PHEV bore (had enough of that type on the Apple forums!), how come:- There are so few LED lamps on the PHEV? Only the stop/tail lamps as far as I can tell. Why did they not incude a heat pump mode for the aircon, after all all the parts are basically there? Renault...

    Heating question...

Another perhaps silly question but how do I set the heating to give just ventilation? I now have aircon on manual to stop it coming on and wasting battery. But there seems no way to run the blower/fan without the heater doing its thing and heating up the incoming air. It appears that the...

    Drive batery history?

Hi All, I've just got hold of my GX4hs, had it a few days now, that was a 'management car' direct from Mitsubishi UK. It's done just over 5k miles and is under 6 months old. I like what I see so far but have a query about the drive battery. I know battery charging and the fullness of charge is...

    Shocking cost of charging!

I've just spotted a fast charge point in Looe Cornwall UK that costs an astronomical £0.30/kW for an AC/DC fast charge plus car parking. It also has a penalty charge of £10 for overstaying your welcome in the car park space! Is this typical for fast charge points? (I am new to all this PHEV...
